A Greek builder was photographed near a Banksy mural in North London. The photo went everywhere and caused confusion. Some people decided he was Banksy, others declined.
He said he wasn't. He also said he didn't think much of the mural.
Confusion. Debates. Denials. Noise. Within that noise a new character was born. Me.Neither one nor the other.
So I made a hat. Here is the story.
Whether I am still here tomorrow is not confirmed. The hat is.
It says TOY on the front. On purpose.
In graffiti TOY means you are not the real thing. Not ready. Wrong.
In snowboarding they call them JERRY. In surfing KOOK. In life - you already know the word.
In the rest of the world it means the same thing. They just never say it out loud.
I put it on that hat.
Because there are graffiti toys. Art toys. Journalist toys. Fashion toys.
You can be a king at what you do and still be a TOY of life.
Socially recognised. Publicly celebrated. Privately a toy.
TOYS OF LIFE.
And the only person who can wear this hat with a straight face is the one who already knows that.
He got the remedy.
A king wears it because he is confident enough not to need a crown.
A toy wears it because he is smart enough to know that is how you become one.
Either way. The hat is the move.
Kings and toys. Same hat. €39.95.
€39.95. The most honest transaction in this whole story.
Not ready to buy. Stay in the loop.
